The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the effects of two different rehabilitative exercises modes, which in rehabilitative room and in aquatic swimming pool on body composition and isokinetic muscular functions in the 38 older women with knee osteoarthritis(OA). For the purpose, the subjects of this study were separated by three groups, who rehabilitative exercises(RE) group(n=11), aquatic exercises(AE) group(n=13), and non-rehabilitative exercises group(n=14) or control group(CON). The two therapeutic groups of the inspection have been trained for 12 weeks. The exercise therapy for RE was made up of warm-up(10min), work-out(30-40min), and cool-down(10min). And the exercise therapy for AE was made up of warm-up(10min), work-out(40min), and cool-down(10min). The statistical techniques for data analysis of inspection were to analyze the differences among groups and times by two way(3¡¿2) repeated measured ANOVA. The 5% level of significance was used as the critical level for acceptance of hypotheses for the study. The results of all the inspections are as followed: At first, the variables of body composition were significantly different to body weight and muscle mass. At second, the isokinetic muscular functions were significantly different to most variables, especially total work levels at 240¡Æ/s between groups and interactions. As results of these conclusions, this study have shown that if the older women with knee OA performed exercise therapy, which in RE or in AE, they must be improved in variables of body system.
